The Advanced Journal of Biomedicine & Medicine (AJBM) applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) only after an article is accepted for publication.
The APC covers all costs related to editorial management, peer-review administration, professional copyediting, production, online hosting, indexing submission, long-term archiving, and platform maintenance.
APC Schedule (in USD)

No other fees are charged.
AJBM does not impose submission fees, page charges, or color figure fees.
What the APC Covers
-
Editorial and plagiarism screening, and management of double-blind peer review
-
Professional language editing, copyediting, and typesetting (PDF and HTML)
-
DOI registration through Crossref
-
Long-term digital preservation (Portico participation)
-
Article hosting, indexing submissions, and metadata deposit to repositories
Waiver & Discount Policy
AJBM supports equitable open access and ensures that the ability to pay does not influence editorial decisions.
Automatic waivers are applied according to the author’s country classification by Research4Life:
-
100% waiver for authors affiliated with institutions in Group A countries
-
50% waiver for authors from Group B countries
If your country or institution is not listed under Research4Life and funding is unavailable, authors may request a case-by-case waiver or discount before acceptance by emailing editor@ajbm.net with a short justification.
Waiver requests after acceptance cannot be considered.
Who May Pay the APC
The APC may be paid by:
-
The corresponding author
-
The author’s institution, research funder, or project grant
Payment instructions are issued upon acceptance and before publication.
Refund Policy
Once an article is accepted and an invoice is issued, the APC becomes due.
Refunds are possible only in the following cases:
-
Duplicate or excess payment – overpaid amounts refunded within 30 days (bank fees may apply).
-
Editorial withdrawal prior to publication caused by a journal-side error – full refund.
If an article is retracted for author misconduct or policy violations, the APC is non-refundable.
Transparency and Ethical Notes
-
Editorial decisions are independent of an author’s ability to pay.
-
Waiver criteria and APC amounts are public and uniformly applied.
-
AJBM follows COPE Core Practices and ICMJE Recommendations for ethics, authorship, conflicts of interest, data transparency, and retraction procedures.
